The IVY Girls wrapped up their year in the most unforgettable way—with a day trip to Atlanta full of learning, bonding, and beautiful memories! On June 14th, our girls laced up their sneakers, packed their pink, and headed out for an adventure they’ll never forget.
Snacks, Smiles & Road Trip Vibes
What’s a road trip without snacks and a little fun along the way? The day started with a lively pit stop at Buc-ee’s, where the girls stocked up on breakfast, drinks, and a few giggles before heading into the city.
Underwater Wonders at the Georgia Aquarium
Their first stop was the Georgia Aquarium, where wide eyes and excited whispers filled the air. From jellyfish to whale sharks, the girls were immersed in the beauty of ocean life.
“I hope the girls walked away with a deeper sense of wonder, curiosity, and respect for the natural world,” shared Chairman Deirdre Nixon. “By exploring the beauty and complexity of marine life, I hope they gained an appreciation for science, conservation, and the importance of protecting our environment.”
Rooted in Legacy at The King Center
Next, the group visited The King Center to walk through history and connect with the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. From the eternal flame to the powerful exhibits, it was a chance for reflection, pride, and purpose.
“I hope they felt a strong sense of pride, purpose, and a connection to their heritage,” Chairman Nixon reflected. “Visiting The King Center offered a powerful opportunity to reflect on the courage, leadership, and sacrifice of those who came before us. I hope they were inspired to believe that their voices matter and that they too have the power to stand for justice, lead with love, and make a difference in their communities.”
Lunch with a Side of Nostalgia
Before heading home, the girls enjoyed a delicious meal at Chick-fil-A / The Dwarf House in Hapeville, GA—sharing laughs, stories, and full hearts.
